New York City Fair Trade Project Revealed!
June 2nd, 2010Fair & Square has a simple vision. To be New York City’s first Fair Trade bar serving wine, beer & artisanal liquors. Along with a fellow volunteer at the NYC Fair Trade Coalition, we have decided to add our business idea to Pitch.co — Maybe they can help us get it off the ground, but only you can help us get it started by voting for us at pitcho.co!
If you like to have a couple drinks with friends, why not do it with a conscience? If you’re sure you want to help alleviate poverty, a drink at Fair & Square is one small way…

Via Nativa Wood Jewelry Now In Philadelphia!
June 2nd, 2010While visiting a friend from Nicaragua who has family in southern New Jersey I decided to make a one day trip to Philly on Memorial Day weekend. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back! It was a lovely pedestrian city — On my way around I passed a green market, old churches in the Loft District area, Washington Square, the Olde City and South Street — my first visit to Ten Thousand Villages was amazing! This is the place to find ethically sourced gifts from all over the world. They even had typical Nicaraguan clay vases and handmade recycled bottle cards from Kenya, which I purchased for a friends wedding!
Eye’s Gallery is another great shop with a variety of Latin American clothing, gifts and jewelry — and now Fair Trade and salvaged wood jewelry from Via Nativa!
